Abstract
Violent behavior committed by fellow students in the university environment is still very common. It is from these violent cases that it will generate perceptions for other students. Therefore this study aims to find out how the perceptions of Palembang City students on reporting cases of violence in the university environment. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. For data collection itself, of course, with Observations, Interviews, and Documentation. The results of the research show that students have their own perceptions, but as students, of course, they do not agree with the existence of acts of violence in the university environment. Where students stated that problems could be solved properly and without violence.
Based on the results of the research that has been described previously and based on the formulation of the problem, how do students in the city of Palembang perceive cases of violence in the university environment, in general, students know about cases of violence that occurred in the university environment, where there were students who saw firsthand the incidents of violence and there are also those who know only from social media. After learning about cases of violence that occurred in the campus environment, students thought they did not agree with acts of violence. In general, both students who directly saw incidents of violence or students who only heard reports of violence cases in the university environment did not agree that there was violence. It can be concluded that in the scope of the university it is generally used to add insight and explore deeper knowledge in certain fields according to student interests because at an age that is no longer young as a student, of course, it can solve problems without having to commit acts of violence. After conducting research on student perceptions both based on experience, selective, predictive, evaluative, and contextual, the results are that students give disapproving responses to cases of violence in the campus environment.
